Cycling

With its mild climate, Gabriola Island is a year-round cycling paradise. Whether you bring your own or rent one of our mountain bikes, you will discover quiet country roads that provides one a leisurely ride amidst grazing deer in pastoral settings or scenic back trails within the island parks that often open to showcase breathtaking ocean vistas and private, lonely beaches. And Gabriola is just the right size for cycling. It is small enough with a natural circular route to allow a full island tour in one day or large and diverse enough for many day trips to explore and enjoy one small part at a time.

Either way you explore the island, be sure to bring along a backpack (we provide one with every bike rental) because you will definitely come across a treasure that must return home with you. Besides the natural beauty of Gabriola your bike trip will take you by the many studios and galleries of the local island artists and, on weekends, the famous island farmer’s markets where you can pick up some local artisan wares.
